Retailer Connections
Retailers connect to your catalog system in one of three ways: Web-ready Catalog, Affiliate Connection, or Dedicated Site.
Web-Ready Catalog
You provide a web-ready catalog for your retailers, they use it to build their own site where they manage their own customer service.
Affiliate Connection
The Affiliate Connection is the simplest most strait forward method for a retailer to connect to your catalog. While you can choose to charge the retailer a set-up charge for creating the connection, there is virtually no cost to you to set someone up.
While this connection method will have the retailer online in minutes, the retailer has no access to advanced features such as setting individual product pricing, creating and using mailing lists, or customizing the look and feel of the site.
- After registering, a retailer can simply link from their site to your site with a special affiliate link.
- Your site will take on the retailers logo.
- You control all product selection, pricing, and promotions.
- Any completed transactions are marked with the retailers affiliate code.
- You determine, for each retailer, what share of the proceeds go to the retailer.
- Retailer has no method for email collection or blasting newsletters.
Dedicated Site
With a Dedicated Site the retailer has a completely independent site.
- Retailer is enabled with an independent site designed from a simple template, or custom made to conform to retailers exact specifications, or integrated into an existing site.
- Retailer has full access to all retailer solutions features and functions such as setting prices, collecting emails, sending out newsletters, and building custom catalogs.
Support Services
With either the Affiliate Connection or the Dedicated site, a variety of
retailer support services are performed for the retailer as part of the service and for which you charge an additional transaction fee. You can outsource these services to Sellsonic, or you can use our service management tools to perform these functions in-house.
- Continuous catalog development and updates

- Online transaction processing, and fraud screening
- Supplier drop-ship order management (for drop-ship vendor catalogs)

Transaction Flow
Here's how a typical online transaction is processed:
- Customer orders from one of your retailer's sites
- Order is validated and release to supplier. Fulfillment may be from your warehouse, or automatically directed to one of your upstream vendors for drop-ship
- Supplier provides tracking number, which is emailed to the customer under your retailer's identity.
- Customer credit card is charged. Funds go directly into your account.
- If your vendor is shipping the item, you receive and reconcile their bill, then send them payment
- From the funds collected you deduct your wholesale cost, actual shipping, credit card fee, and your transaction fee. The remainder goes into your Retailer A/P account.
- At the end of the month you send your retailer payment for the accumulated net of funds collected less any chargebacks or refunds.
